Lorette Velvette is a Memphis legend, having done time with groups like Alluring Strange, The Hellcats, Kropotkins, and a variety of top-notch solo LPs that mostly came out in Germany initially. Her influences draw on everything from post-punk to Memphis and North Mississippi Hill Country blues legacies all in a very special alchemy. Collaborations include recordings with Mick Collins (Gories), Dave Soldier, Jonathan Kane, Tav Falco, Moe Tucker, as well as a cameo on Sonic Youth’s Washing Machine LP singing with Kims Gordon and Deal. Lorette stops by Brian Turner’s show 4-6pm ET Wednesday 9/4 to recount some of her past tales and play a few tunes live on guitar in the studio!
